At 5 1/2 months my daughter loved this toy in and out of the tub. I did have to take the fishing pole out of it, but will return it when she is no longer sticking things in her mouth. I read the other reviews, but have had no problem with any of the parts or the paint so far. All of the toys also float. Katie is now 7 months and loves carrying the fish around with her test tasting them. I love that no water can get inside the toys causing them to mildew. She loves it when I stack all of the pieces up so she can knock them down. She also likes to open and close the captain's part of the lid. I cant wait til she gets old enough to hide the pieces inside the boat. Enjoy...

I have 2 boys, a two year and a one year old, and they LOVE IT! My two year old had gotten to where he didnt want to take a bath and screamed everytime for ever it seemed, no matter how many different kinds of tub toys we put in there it still didnt help him, but they got this for their birthday, and now he loves to take a bath. They also love to cary the boat around and put their other toys in it to. I LOVE the fish that is a nail cleaner because u know boys can get so dirty! I am buyin it for all of my friends kids for their birthdays! The top of the boat comes off and they try to pick it up by it, but other than that it is such a big help in the tub!!!! THANKS!

Tubby Toy Fishing Boat Bath Toy Danger!

My 4 children, 9,7, 4 and 2 all enjoy playing with this tub toy. But on Nov 22, 2008, it resulted it a visit to Children's Hospital! My 2 year old daughter and 4 year old son were playing in the tub and had taken the Tug Boat lid off. My 2 year old stood up and sat back down rather abruptly and landed on the Tug boat and the fishing pole. She cried instantly and when I picked her up, she was bleeding from her bottom!!!! I took her to the ER. Unable to find the source of bleeding, the ER called in a pediatric surgeon who found 2 lacerations [...]. So beware that plastic boat and fishing pole are sharp. Tubby Tug and fishing pole are no longer welcome in our tub!

I purchased my sons tug boat in March of 2008. Parents company must have redesigned this boat because the port holes are now closed so water can not fill into the boat and cause it to sink. Also my life preserver floats. These were problems many people in previous reviews were concerned about. My son loves this toy and actually is excited to go take a bath. It's also lots of fun to catch the fish with the fishing pole. The whole set appears to be very solid and no water has seeped inside any parts so no worries of growing mold inside anything.

Ok so this is a bath toy right????? My kids loved this toy but I had to take the boat away because the screws were totally rusted! I emailed the Parents company and explained that I had only had the toy a couple weeks and they basically said there's nothing they could do about it.....great PR dont you think! My kids love the little toys that came with it but too bad the main attraction was a piece of junk!

My son LOVES this bath tub boat, however the screws in it are metal and are rusting terribly. I mean this is a bath toy and you wouldn't think you would have rusty screws in it right?

I bought this boat for my 2 1/2 year old son after he saw it in a magazine. He loves it in the bath and has played with it in our wading pool as well. Many neighbor kids 4-6 yrs old also enjoy trying to catch the fish. My 6 month old daughter is more interested in chewing on the fish than anything else, so I would say that if you're thinking to buy it for an infant, great, because as they grow, the toy will still be entertaining. I've had no problems with mold or sinking parts.

Help me understand why does the "life preserver" SINK and the fish FLOAT? The boat's "windows" are positioned so low that just a little bit of water makes the thing sink. Horrible design. My child was bored silly with this.

I think this is a great toy for in the tub! I have even gone out and got a nother for my nephew! I do not like the fact that you cannot get the water out of the captain, I cannot find bath toys that will not fill up with water so that my son is not getting near mold. I do have to watch him with the fishing pole really good. If you make sure your child stays sitting down in the bath tub, like they should, then you should'nt have those problems. My son always wants to take a bath so he can play with his fishing boat!!! Hes two years old, and he's really getting ahold of the fishing part. love it!!!
